Departing Discord

On 1st of January 2024 I've decided that I'll be departing Discord platform within same year - so until the end of 2024. Within this year I'll be trying to establish other means of contact with people I want to stay in contact with and find ways to relinquish my responsibilities in few Discord communities I have them in.

Reasons being that I dislike Discord, I feel that my privacy is violated on it (plaintext messages on someone's server, no thanks), I grew my dislike towards proprietary corporate entities holding my vital connections hostage and also I believe in free and open alternatives which are simply better in many regards that are extremely important to me (while falling behind in others). Discord has also made it mandatory for myself to have a phone number tied to my account at all times which I find wildly inappropriate. I wanted to leave Discord for a long time but haven't formalized any plans on doing that, until now.

• Stop being a board member of Minecraft Wiki (predicted to happen with no issues as current board members are only temporary)
• Leave all Super Animal Royale community projects if no other option to prevail in them without a Discord account appears within a year
• Transfer ownership of my personal Discord server to a friend
• Release, polish and end work on RcGcDb project, change direction of RcGcDw project while trying to keep compatibility with Discord for the time being

Until all of those are fulfilled, I'm also limiting my conversations on Discord on personal matters not to input my private information on the platform. I'm way more comfortable talking about private matters on Matrix in encrypted rooms.
